Patna RTO: Services Offered

The following services can be availed at Patna RTO for your vehicle/s:

Driving License

Patna RTO issues learner’s and permanent driver’s licenses for vehicle owners in Patna. The RTO also renews licenses which are nearing expiry. The following are the fees for the license services in Patna:

Here are the steps to apply for a driver’s license in Patna:
  1. Visit the Parivahan Sewa website, the official government website and select ‘driving license related services’ in the ‘online services’ menu.
  2. Choose the ‘apply online’ option and select the new license option.
  3. Select the state of Bihar and the city of Patna.
  4. Now enter you’re the details of your learner’s license along with your date of birth.
  5. Provide the required details on the form and submit it along with scanned copies of the documents. Documents include:
Address proof (birth certificate, school leaving) Learner’s license Form no.4 Passport-size photograph (3 nos.)
  1. Once the form and documents have been submitted, select a time slot for your driving test.
  2. Pay the fees and take a printout of the receipt and the application form.
  3. On the day of the test, carry the receipt and the application form to Patna RTO.
  4. After successful completion of the driving test and any other test, if necessary, the license will be issued in your name.
Do remember to carry your license with you at all times when using the vehicle. If you lose the license, immediately apply for a duplicate at Patna RTO. Renew the license on time to avoid punishment or fines.

Vehicle Registration

If the vehicle is registered in another city/state, NOC from the previous RTO is required)
  5. Submit these documents along with the completed form at Patna RTO
  6. Pay the required fees for the registration certificate (RC) for your vehicle
  7. After the documents have been successfully verified, the RC will be issued and mailed to your address
Here is how to renew RC at Patna RTO:
  1. Visit the Patna RTO
  2. Ask for Form 25, which is the renewal form
  3. Fill up the form, and attach the following documents with the form: Original RC of the vehicle Insurance policy of the vehicle (if it’s a two-wheeler, then a two wheeler insurance policy) PUC certificate
  4. Submit the form and the documents at the RTO and pay the required fees
After the documents have been verified, a new RC will be issued by the Patna RTO. Do remember to initiate the renewal process 60 days before the RC expires. If the RC gets damaged or lost, follow these steps to get a duplicate RC:
  1. Visit the Patna RTO and ask for form no.26
  2. Fill the form and submit the completed form along with the following documents: Insurance policy of the vehicle PUC certificate Clearance challan from the police Copy of the FIR filed for the lost RC
  3. Pay the fees for duplicate RC
After the processing of the application and verification of the documents, the duplicate RC will be issued.

Road Tax Collection

For vehicles that are purchased and registered at Patna RTO, road tax is collected by the authorities. The following tables show the rate of road tax:
